1		Langer Schnabel. Gefieder kontrastreich gefärbt. Das Kopfgefieder ist teilweise verlängert und bildet Hauben. Langhalsig.    Gattung: Taucher – Podiceps (Deutschland)
1	’	Kurzer kräftiger Schnabel. Gefiederfarbe unauffällig dunkel. Kopfgefieder hat eine gleichmäßige Länge, keine auffälligen Hauben. Wirkt aus der Entfernung entenartig.    Gattung: Tachybaptus (Deutschland)
