Key Start template contains parameter: listing level, with values = 1, 2, or 3. Definition:
- keys marked as listing level 1 should be keys to commonly known taxon groups, that are relevant to start directly with for the majority of users. These may be of different rank, e.g. the list may contain both an insect, butterfly, and dragonfly key. The list should not become significantly longer than 20-30 entries.
- level 2 should contain other keys for larger groups, e.g. a key to a family of plants.
- level 3 contains all other keys.
If listing level = 1, the Key Start template generates category:
- starter keys / Einstiegsschlüssel
- diskutierte ALTERNATIVEN: Anfangsschlüssel / direct entry key / first level key / Schlüssel erster Ordnung / Großgruppenschlüssel (perhaps not fitting for woody plants?)
NOTE: later, the category generation may include information from audience
The php Extension:Mobilekey, when generating the .../MobileKey subpage and the respective template, will create listing level there as well (listing level = 1 etc.). If listing level is missing from Key Start, Extension:Mobilekey will make an estimate based on taxonomic rank: "if taxonomic rank = family or order or Familie or Ordnung then 2 else 3".
